Salvador, Joseph
(1797-1873)
   French historian. He was born in Montpellier. He initially studied medicine, but after settling in Paris he began to work on the history of religions. In Paris, Rome, Jerusalem, ou la question religieuse au 19e siecle he propounded a universal creed of religion. He also wrote a history of Roman rule in Judea, a study of the institutions of Moses and the Jewish people, and a work about Jesus.
